Figueroa & Peaslee formed in early 2017, soon after the two pianists happened to cross paths in a choral rehearsal.

Their first time playing together was filled with more laughter than correct notes, but it was clear that there was an opportunity for strong musical collaboration. The pair began rehearsals, quickly learning each other’s distinct style of playing and working to fine-tune the craft of performing in tandem.

Since that initial rehearsal, a terrific friendship has formed and the duo has begun public performances to share their joy of music with audiences across the country.

Neal Figueroa is a music director and pianist based in Colorado. While serving on the artistic staffs of over fifty musicals and operettas, Neal has had the distinct pleasure of collaborating with many performers and directors, including Tony Award Nominee Catherine Cox (Baby), Damon Gillespie (NBC’s Rise, Newsies), Jacob Brent (Cats), Travis Greisler (The Cher Show), and Analisa Leaming (King and I, Hello, Dolly!, On the Twentieth Century).

After having the privilege to study under the tutelage of conductors Dr. Raphael Bundage (Robert Shaw Chorale/ First Presbyterian Church, Nashville) and John Keene (Seattle Opera), Neal has continued on to conduct choral concerts ranging from sacred music to revues to major choral works.

Neal regularly accompanies and coaches local high school choirs, in addition to teaching private students. He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
