Musicians partnering with Blakemore UMC to support music program

November 21, 2019 (PUEBLO, Colo.)– Colorado based Figueroa & Peaslee Piano Duo will be performing their annual Christmas program in Nashville this year at Blakemore United Methodist Church (3601 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37205). The program features a festive mixture of classic carols and musical storytelling. Selections range from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite to arrangements of familiar tunes, both secular and sacred to make audiences’ spirits bright.

The duo has performed several times in Tennessee (Neal Figueroa is a Memphis native and graduate of Middle Tennessee State University), but this will be the pair’s first performance in Nashville. “This is our third year of Christmas concerts, and we are delighted to be bringing it to Nashville audiences,” Neal says. They will be sharing their Christmas performances in five cities across Tennessee, which span the entire state.

Blakemore UMC has hosted a number of musicians in concert programming and the church is excited to bringing in Figueroa & Peaslee. “What is unique about this guest performance is that it doubles as a fundraiser for our music program — funds raised from this community event will go towards our music internship program, that allows college students to develop their skills with real-world experience, ” explains Matthew Pyles, Music Director at Blakemore. “We are thrilled to host Figueroa & Peaslee for their inaugural Nashville performance and add them to our growing list of excellent musicians that have performed concerts in our sanctuary.”

This event will also include a special guest appearance by storyteller Dr. Jette Halladay, Professor of Theatre at MTSU.

The concert is Sunday, December 8th at 2:30pm. Admission is $10 and free for students. ( or 719/766-7298) More information can be found at:
